disclaimer: this post is not an explanation of the SQL 'group by' clause....
yesterday balaji gave some reporting work. ok fine i understood wat he said at the beginning (actually i was wrong), and went on and finished the work. Well, so i thought, when i showed him, he pointed out where i had missed, and asked me to make it right. Man was it difficult, actually it wasn't difficult my illiteracy was the problem there. Coz, i still don't know what can be and what cannot be done with this damn tool. as i(we(vimla)) was(were) pondering over the solution, we found something called Group Row.. this seemed interesting, and upon questioning, we got the answer that it was indeed what we have to use. But on reading tutorial and also applying in examples, we could not understand, i was still not sure, that, if i had to use it, on where(which column) to use it. today morning, ASA i woke, that would be some half hour back, it simply struck me, that it can be applied on the common column. yippee, yeah, hurray, damn it....
What the, the common column was never retrieved to the dataset. now what to do??????, I'm still pondering..... Well at least i could write it down so i could go office and go thru this even if i forget.
Damn, i just wasted half hour thinking abt work.!!!
