The past 2 weeks

Man, it was tough...
Rules... i hate them...

Well the past 2 weeks saw me becoming a good part of the project that i was alloted with... (actually i was alloted to it and not the other way around...)

it also saw the 60th Independence day, and there was nothing special in me.... I just did not even care. i was working my heart out, trying to make everything work. i came home only at 1 pm...

India won a damn test series again england after some eons i suppose... They are gonna surrender the one day series... sachin cracked a 99 yesterday. it must have been heart breaking, any one who gets out at 99 will be heart broken, but wat to do azhar got out at 199.....

Well, i was asked to learn the entire upto which aravind had done. and i was asked to develop the file management, and billing sections. it was fun.. yes i should say so.. i just worked my heart out, i would say. it was challenging and entertaining....

we flew to Bangalore, with the slightest hope that our demo is gonna work, and i was saying to myself, Murphy's second law ( i would say s0)

smile, tomorrow will be worse....

but still everything went fine..., the project worked, everything about future was planned, selvi left, and i was stranded in the same place, from where i came back running, without the slightest idea how i was gonna proceed......

But still considering everything that happened in the last 15 days or so. it was good, fun, and i don't know what else to say....

going to the church on a sunday morning with selvi, (instead of sleeping), walking the length of MG Road, working on apple i'Mac (wow!!!, i never thought that i would even get a chance to touch it, leave touching i thought i would never see it in flesh and blood other than in pics, and here i was working on it, browsing on it, hacking on it, bug fixing on it, configuring it)

well Chidambaram's and G3's bday passed, i wished them, I tried to meet up with some of my friends, but see i am sitting here in chennai, writing this...

i think i just ran over selvi with certain comments of mine, and that sure would have hurt. if i had, i wish to say sorry.... but i would never have the courage to say that... or if i say so, there won't be any fans for my fun... It is just for fun, i never mean to hurt anyone...

well, i took some pics, some sneaky as usual.... will upload them to picassa, u all can comment on it...

and know what!, most of this blog was composed with my Rokr E6, except those that depicts today's events...., it was edited so as to appear that i typed the whole thing in a single sitting, moving text from here and there and changing the tenses, and stuff.....

I saw, major payne, Blade, and many other films, even munna bhaii.. i should never forget to mention that.. it was really hilarious though i was seeing it,....... i don't know how many times i have seen it...

they say the client place wants everyone in formals, i have been wearing from the beginning of my life, i wish to wear jeans, but one half of me says follow the rules, and the other says

"Rules are made to be Broken"

and i did follow both my halfs......

i wish i could finish of the entire thing soon and run back to chennai... we'll see, how long it will take.... Got to fly back, to banaglore on monday morning again .... I don't why, but i hate that city... Bangalore S U C K S .....

the traffic nightmares, the mess they call food, (i am not talking about the food that we ate), still somewhere down the heart, i like this place, but that doesn't mean bangalore rocx, it still sucks, big time....

I don't know what, even after all these happened in my life, like how Tanaka Yukio, a.k.a Koyuku, the main protagonist of BECK (Mongolian Chop Squad) would say,

"It was a normal life, a very normal boring life"

I wish the second line too comes true in my life...

"Until the day, i met him"

where are you Ryuske?........................................

Most Wanted (ticket less travelling)

Have you ever traveled in a public transport without proper tickets.  I did it.  I traveled without tickets in the local trains for the past 2 days, and i did not realize it till today morning when i had to travel to office by train instead of going with my dad in his two wheeler.

This is not the first time that i am traveling without tickets.   Back in college days, me and my friends had traveled so a lot in trains without tickets.  But now it is different, back then we were branded students and we had the college id cards which had more power than one can imagine, if properly used...  But now i do not belong to any educational institution.  Now i am a professional, a software professional, any black marks are sure to play spoil sport some time in future...

But why am i afraid!....... i wasn't caught. right!  But still, i couldn't stop feeling guilty today morning.   I went to the station renewed my train pass and then i traveled to office by train, for the 3rd time.  I only travel back home from office by train...

But back in the days when i was in north, it was different. i have seen people travel without tickets as though it was their birth right.  but will pay and get tickets when using a transport system like auto or manual rickshaws.  though they would cost a lot than the buses and trains where they refuse to buy tickets.

I have even heard of incidents when a guy shot the Ticket Checker with his gun, coz he fined him for traveling without tickets.  I've heard from some of my colleagues, when i was in agra, who was a bihari saying that they don't buy tickets for traveling in a public carrier, like trains and buses.

Even the parents of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the great railway minister who changed the railway industry which was about to be shut down, into a number one profit producer in less than a year, without making any changes to the system, traveled without tickets to Delhi from Patna( this is the capital of Bihar ) and shamelessly asked why the hell should i buy a ticket to travel in a public transport....

I would not complain against such a behavior of the Indian common man, for it had been in his nature to do such things, but i would blame the government or some other control which could have made this habit disappear, but didn't...  How come everyone traveling in the metro buy a ticket.  It is nearly impossible to travel ticketless in a metro.  But i know how to. (that was the first thing that i found when i landed in delhi in April 2006...)

Well all said, i would not mind traveling ticketless in a bus service in either here or in Delhi.  For if you want me to pay for your service, make sure you do the service in a proper way.  why the hell should i pay u, when the height of the bus is not even higher than me.  so when i stand and travel i have to bend down and have a pain in my neck and shoulders.  even if the bus has empty seats i cannot sit, for there is no enough leg space for me to sit comfortably, leave comfortably, atleast i should be able to sit right!...  And how do the authorities expect me to pay for a ticket with such a service.  But still i pay and travel....

So what is the solution to the problem?...  well, i don't have any idea.  I don't have a damn idea what can be done, coz what ever suggestion i give you with respect to me will not hold good for a guy who is just 5 feet high.    Ask that guy how it is to travel in a train he will start complaining like me for everything is high there...  see the difference.. so someone ought to find a solution.

we the tall people may belong to a minority.  and yes we also have the financial ability and also the skills to own and drive a motor bike or a car, and yes i do have one at home.  yet i don't wanna use them to add one more vehicle to the ever increasing traffic population.  why not use the public transportation, which will save the country a few rupees on the oil purchase cost, which in turn will become energy saved. and also lowering of pollution.  I wish i could drive to office, but i won't.  I wish, atleast i could go to office in a cycle, my parents won't allow.  Now what can i do, other than rely on public transport.  But should i buy a ticket next time?......

Tata industries......Titanium Factory...

Tata company had planned a titanium factory to be built in tamilnadu.  Good, that is something which is good for the people of that place and also to the government and also for the country....

so said some.   then came the others...

If that factory comes, then many will lose their works and also lives.... those who had one their houses will lose their houses, and other stuff like that.

Ok now i got a question....  Why is it that the government always goes after the Agricultural lands.  why can't they give the company some land which is of no use are not being used for anything useful.  Why is it always after the farmers lands...

Ok fine take the land from the farmers, but why don't u give them the market value of the land instead of the government rate...( the government rate is 10% of market value)

On the wake of this lets go back to past for the start of this feud.. roughly some 5 years ago, when AIADMK was in power they signed with Tata Industries for this factory and promised land,  and now AIADMK lost power and in came DMK and when that pact which was signed was implemented, now again the then chief minister of AIADMK rule Miss J.jayalalitha, now opposes the construction of the factory... (great politics isn't it?),

In between these arguments between the ruling party and the main opposition party some of the smaller parties have come up with some solutions which are worth listening or atleast giving a try i think..

The first was by Supreme star Sarath kumar.  He is one of the actor turned politicians.  He formed a group of lawyers and common people and asked them collect some background info about what would happen if the factory comes up, and also to go the people of the areas which were being planned to be acquired, and get the views of the people...and then further proceed with whatever we can based on these data......   I think this is a good idea, and seems the government is gonna try these, i read in papers today morning that Karunanidhi was talking about doing this.( the government is always late, similar to the Tamil cinema police).

The second one was by Captain Vijayakanth.  He is also a actor turned politician.  What he suggested was something interesting.  May be a good solution if they are really short of time.  ( this is my view, and i am in no way endorsing or following vijayakanth).  He puts forth these points.

  • Give the farmers the market value for their lands which the government acquires.
  • Promise of employment in the factory for atleast one member of the family from which they acquire lands.
  • Giving the farmers a part of ownership of the factory(this seems really cool, but since these ppl don't know the business tactics, it can't be said to be a safe thing for the farmers)
  • Training them so that they can work in the work ( so that the company cannot reject them that they don't know how to work...)

I forgot the rest.  But these seem cool.  But still first the voice of the people have to be known and recorded then the rest can be done easily...   Since it has been decided that the factory is going to come, i wish that they make the damage to the society and environment to the minimum... and also make sure no body gets affected because of the coming of a factory there...

wat da ya think?...

English.....

Englishman: We fucked ur motherland for over Hundred and Fifty years.
Indian: O!, Ok, We will fuck ur mother tongue till the end of time.

Well, yesterday at Inox, when we were in the **** ****, to eat something (coz Satish was feeling very hungry...)  we say a guy talking to the shop boy in English.  the thing is he was talking very funny.  i mean, he was not talking properly.  the sentences were poorly formed.  One foreigner, ( i think he is from out of India) who overheard the conversation just like us was making fun of him to his girlfriend (ok, it can also be his wife or even his colleague or even his sister)..   But the next astonishing thing was that the boy in the shop ( i think he wouldn't have crossed 10th in school) talked such good English. After the guy went away from that stall, i approached for buying something and just engaged in conversation with that boy and got some details, and i was right.  He has finished only 8th and has been working since then...  He was just disappointed with the people behaving like this. He shared the same thought as me,

if you don't know something, don't do it...

i would not say i am good in english.  but i would never use it unless i have no other choice.  at the moment, when the foreigner made joke of that guy, the above joke came to my mind...

I thought i would share this with incident with you

LiVe fReE oR diE HArD..... Die Hard 4.0

At last the day and time arrived..  satish came to my house in his safari at around 5 pm,...  we reached there at nearly  5:30, it was just half hour drive,(actually there was no traffic...,  we went to the box office and collected our tickets which we had booked online...  Then still there was more than 0ne and a half hours left..  so we decided to take a tour of the City center.  Actually the Inox theaters were located inside the city center...  The theater was in the 3rd floor...  We then went another floor up and found the funzone...we entered ,,  satish wanted to play the car and bike games we went in and bought a card and went to play the bike one, which was similar to need for speed but in Most anted mode...  But when we swiped the card the system said that it was out of function..  the car games too said the same.. then we went to play the basketball, both of us taking alterante turns.  we scored 40 tickets each and went to claim our prizes...  i took a tweety hang up and he took one of the three pigs hang up.  then we headed to the theater.

The theater was cool.  real nice.  the stairs  had lighting on them with the seat rows in the light,  so finding the seat in darkness was never going to be a problem.  we got out selves some popcorn (it is not some actually a large tub) and two soft drinks for 150 bucks...  then the movie stated.  I don't want to say anything about the movie, go to the theater or buy yourself a DVD and watch it.  it is worth it.  i am just waiting for getting my hands on the DVD...

Bruce Willis is old and the fight scenes have been done keeping that in mind.  But it is the same old john McClane.  man who can stop this one man.  The villain was never afraid of anything other than McClane in the film.  But unlike the other films in this one there is less rambling from John than in the past 3 films.

It takes you back to the days of the original Die Hard and yes this film is really worth watching.  Bruce rox.   just make sure you have lots of popcorn and phones switched off and no ones gonna disturb u......

well... is there a fifth installment?  i wish they make it!...

Suresh's Hard drive.....

I had promised mr suresh that i will some how copy the his songs without virus. and so i set out to do that yesterday morning. I opened my system and connected the hdd. It was so dirty inside that even i could not stand it. so i cleaned my system and booted up.. though the HDD showed up in bios, it did not come up in Linux or in windows... But after some tweaking and refreshing my memory ( my brain and the system memory) for all sorts of related things... i remembered that i had to configure the master and slave properly with jumper settings which i had not done. Then quickly rearranged the jumpers of my DVD writer and the HDD and then the drive showed up in both windows and Linux.. i did not want to risk in windows, coz it is already broken and i am not in a situation to sit and play with it all day, for i have to return the drive to suresh atleast by afternoon and then get ready to go to a movie...

So i moved to Linux and copied all the songs and data requested by suresh.... ran a scan on them and called him up and said that everything is ready and he can come and take his drive and also that if he can get a blank DVD he can also take a copy of his data...

he came at 2pm and took his data.. well that was it. see what can happen if u stop practicing what U like and love. no if it is this situation for the loved work then what will happen if it is for a .....

Die Hard 4.0... An update....

Ok booked the tickets today afternoon.

Me and satishkumar are going to Inox on sunday to watch this film.

The show is at 7:15 pm...

this stupid guy (satish) was caught going thru the one way in the wrong direction and his license was taken away by the police.  He was asked to get it from the local municipal court on monday, so which means he can't legally ride a bike till he gets back his license.  so wat, who cares,  i don't care, we are going to Inox in a bike for the movie..

somebody stop us...(if u really dare.....)

The most blogs in a month

The most blogs that i have made in a month is 26 which i did in august '05 may be i will topple that this month.  this is the 23rd posting this month, just 4 more to go.  and just 4 days left..

i am not some one who is a great writer, or for the matter, nothing even happens in my life or i don't even think something different or something notable to write other than the fights/ duels with my parents and some ranting's just about  me..  so something happening so frequently in my life just happens rarely and that is what the number of posts per month indicate...

well anyway all the best to me that something interesting happens so i can write 4 more postings.....
