Maanada Mailada & IPL Cheer Leaders

Jeez....

was watching maanada mailada as usual, (not because i like it, because mom wants to watch it, and i don't have a choice.....), it was exchange round today, where the guy will dress up and dance like a girl and vice versa, Kala master, one of the judges was not too very comfortable with what was going on stage. but she did not show it off in words, but the camera was on her at all times when she was visibly angry or should i say disappointed, or vexed, or i don't know what else to say. The costumes were not too good. The same when the ladies wear she does not have that expression, but when the reality is thrown in front like a slap on the face, she was there helpless.

The dance was really good many a times. Just that the costume was a little too upsetting for her it seems. Well, who am i to comment on issues like this, in this famous country, where some netas are crying boo and are considering to ban the cheerleaders in the IPL T20 tournament, for wearing skimpy outfits, but allow the bollywood heroines to dress even more skimpily, with the bare minimum outfits to go around freely, and they say it is art... I just can't understand it... So are the moral police saying that it is ok to dress the bare minimum in public or not?.......

Normal Eyes

Hmm,

The verdict is out atlast after so many years of hard yearned chance to atlast get rid of these glasses. it was a waste. all these efforts, the different ways i used to make my parents go with me for the laser test. twice i came close to success, but now all is just dust......

No i can't leave my glasses behind, i can't have normal eyes like everyone else around me. i have to be dependent on the glasses. it has been a dream which i had been chasing for nearly 15 years.... all those vivid dreams, colorful dreams in 70 mm with all those jazzy effects went poof when the ophthalmologist spoke those words, poof like how smoke disappears into thin air, everything disappeared. I just couldn't speak anything more, i just left. and when i exited the room , it was like the whole was laughing at my face, saying, yours was just a dream, nothing more, just a dream which just went away.

what else can you expect from a failure like me.. only non materializing dreams, just like the designs of my e-bike, just like everything else that has the trademark of me.....

Elfen Lied

Hmm, saw the final concluding chapters of Elfen Lied. was really nice. i loved it so much, it comes very much near to Full Metal Alchemist. But somewhere it doesn't reach the same heights as FMA. still this is a must watch. i saw it in both Japanese and English, couldn't make much in the Japanese version. If it is not for the nudity, i can watch it anytime. also some may be offended because of the gore violence in the anime, it is too gruesome, the first 15 minutes is really not for the light hearted or children. I don't want the small kids to watch blood shed like this...

But still, though it being such high in violence, it still gets into my must watch category....
may be, I'll put in my views on it a little later. i am tired to go on....

Video admin

down with fever, and headache, i just was doing nothing. so yesterday i thought i would create something that would let me manage the video collection and let me know to whom i have given to, and such stuff. but sterday was too weak to go beyond thinking of this idea. today too i slept all day, though now feeling a little well, thought i would sit to develop it, i took off with jsp, coz i wanted to referesh it and also to try some thing on java side as i am a little afraid of the language. so there started my adventure, had some problems with mssql server, so uninstalled it and switched over to MySQL,

i have for now created the data entry screen for initial dataentry and also the backend insertion logic for it. and it is working need to beautify the page a little.

will continue tomorrow......

A classic - The Swan Princess

Its been a long time since i saw some great movies on tv. today i saw the swan princess, an animated classic. was so nice to see it after a long time....

By todays standards it wouldn't be any where in visual splendour, but still it was great story and it was great story telling. end of the day that is what matters not visual graphics and great music. they add value to the movie but they don't make great movies. a good story and the way it is told make them great and classic.

i bought Blue Streak and A Knight's Talk. classified as Action Comedy/Adventure. they too were good. i had already watched them many a time on tv, They are good......

hope i make one some day..........

Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Adress

hmmm, after all these days of curiosity over the Gettysburg address of lincoln(in a landmark i read that it had some very minimum words...) i read it today... it was nice, and i even tried to speak it as he would have spoken, but since i have never heard him speak i cannot confirm weather i was close enough or far away from the way he spoke, Ok, for all those who have not read, i am posting it here.. (copied from here)

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met here on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of it as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But in a larger sense we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled, here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but can never forget what they did here. It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

also, i did get some thing funny related with this, a nice imagination it was, What if Abe had used a power point to drive his speech, instead of his oratorical skills. a nice one take a look at it. also do read the makin of the presentation...

few things which i missed to mention in the past year.

the past 9-10 months were interesting in one way (though there more non interesting things too). Sightings of many who were lookalikes of some of my friends, my first visit to a church, people who talked so cool in my native language, a women who smoke and drunk, a nice talking person from dispur, assam who had a wonderful smile, my first flight experience, etc etc. i forgot many. but these were nearly unique ones.

I found many lookalikes when i was in bangalore. i even mistook them for my friends.... Then there was this lady, i can't say you who, that would put me in trouble. who smokes. big deal hanh! but i think it was cool. it was raining, and she was there standing in the balcony with a cigar in her hand, puffing away. she was coooool.

Then two months back, when i went to one of my uncle's retirement function, i was stunned at the command the people over there had on the language. i simply cannot talk without an english work in a sentence, they were talking entirely in tamil.. i just couldn't believe it. i wish i too could talk like that someday. i wish!!!!....

i wish there are many more such interesting incidents all along the way that life would lead me to.

And hey i forgot, i launched a google groups for team ddc. and it seems to be a lill successful. Hope it is useful to everyone in ddc..
